The Ride Home

A good friend of mine unfortunately lost his beautiful old setter.
Being the dog man he is, he is getting a new puppy at age 79.
It been awhile since he had a puppy so we were having a conversation about picking up the puppy and the pros and cons of crating the puppy for the ride home.
I'm always torn on this one (yes, I have bought dogs from other kennels over the span of 25 years) because of safety.
But I also beleive that as long as it is a safe trip, I see tremendous value in letting your new best friend occupy someone's lap ok the ride home.
New puppy, all smiles in the car on the way home with a lot of loving....yes.
After all, just like with a new car/truck, you only get one ride home.
